After five wonderful years, Polo Steakhouse and Lounge is closing its doors to make way for the next wave of culinary reinvention at The Garden City Hotel.
We feel the time is right to identify a new direction for the restaurant and lounge. Sign up to receive e-mail updates and be the first to find out what’s to come. Legendary Sunday Brunch
Sunday Brunch seating is at 11:00am, 11:30am, 2:00pm, 2:30pm.
Our elegant, award-winning Sunday Brunch has become almost as legendary as The Garden City Hotel itself. The culinary feast ranges from traditional favorites like made-to-order omelets and carved meats to more eclectic fare, including a raw bar and fresh sushi. A sumptuous display of fresh fruit, cheese platters, salads, fresh-baked muffins, pastries and decadent desserts is a fitting finish.
Includes Mimosas, Bloody Marys and coffee or tea.

The Garden City Hotel is delighted to carry on the beloved British tradition of Afternoon Tea, allowing friends, family and colleagues to take a break and enjoy good conversation over a cup of tea. Served each Saturday, Afternoon Tea offers a charming addition to any stay at our historic Long Island hotel, but can also be arranged as a private party, ideal for bridal or baby showers and bridesmaid luncheons as well as holiday and birthday celebrations.

Warm and inviting, Polo Lounge presents scratch-made cocktails, interesting wines by the glass and bottle and an atmosphere for elegant entertaining. Serving a lounge menu throughout the day, Polo Lounge shifts gears for happy hour and late night cocktails, adopting a stylishly seductive atmosphere for live entertainment.
Enjoy our new menu featuring classic items with an artisanal flair, paired with drink specials on beer, wine, spirits and our specialty cocktails. The Social will take place exclusively in the lounge Monday - Friday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm

About Executive Chef Ari Nieminen
Born in Finland and raised on a lakeside farm, Nieminen fished in pristine lakes, picked berries and grew vegetables for the table. This instilled in Chef Nieminen a culinary purity that has guided him from the simply prepared dishes of his youth to the sensual feasts he now creates as Executive Chef at The Garden City Hotel. " Early on, I learned the importance and value of preserving the integrity of ingredients. Learning how to cook with and preserve all foods harvested for winter, including fruit, berries and mushrooms is crucial to my skills."stated Chef Nieminen. Nieminen trained at the culinary institute and worked at top-rated NYC Restaurants. Nieminen runs a well staffed kitchen at The Garden City Hotel’s Polo Steakhouse, specializing in prime dry-aged steak and sustainably sourced seafood, local and seasonably produce and herbs from the Hotel’s Garden. Chef Ari manages the cuisine at the restaurant as well as for our weddings, social gatherings and corporate dinners.
