PATRICK S. SMALLEY, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

- To Receive Honor for Outstanding Achievement and Friendship at 17th Annual Golf Classic -

The Garden City Hotel and Fairhaven Properties, Inc., has been awarded the 2005 President’s
Award for Outstanding Achievement and Friendship by Adelphi University. Smalley will be
presented with the award on Monday, September 26, 2005 during the 17th Annual Golf Classic,
taking place at the Cherry Valley Club in Garden City, New York.
“It is our pleasure to present Patrick Smalley with the 2005 President’s Award for
Outstanding Achievement and Friendship. His contributions and involvement with Adelphi
University have been remarkable over the past years and well appreciated,” said
Dr. Robert A. Scott, President, Adelphi University.
As an executive board member of the Adelphi University Alumni Association and chairman
of their Financial Resources Committee, Smalley is extremely active in community and
civic affairs.
Smalley is the executive vise president of Fairhaven Properties Inc., developers, owners,
investor, and managers of apartment and hospitality real estate. In his capacity, Smalley
advises ownership on organizational, financial, and market strategies and the implementation
of major decisions concerning firm direction, asset management, capitol formations, resource
allocation and new business opportunities.
Smalley also serves as the executive vice president of The Garden City Hotel, a world-class
luxury hotel located in Garden City, Long Island, New York. In his role as executive vice
president, Smalley serves as chief business manager on property strategies, hotel operations,
sales and marketing, and finance
Smalley holds a B.A. degree from Adelphi University and New York State licenses for general
real estate appraiser and real estate broker. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of
New York and the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, a Certified Hospitality
Administrator (CHA), and member of the American Lodging Association. Born in Brooklyn, NY,
he resides in Garden City, with his son, Christopher.
