October 2009) The Garden City Hotel (45 Seventh Street, Garden City, NY [516] 747-3000 or www.gardencityhotel.com) in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, will serve a Think Pink menu at Rein by Executive Chef De Bruyn including a signature Pink Ribbon Martini.
Ten percent of proceeds from these menu items will be donated to the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. The hotel's historic cupola will also be lighted pink throughout October. Pink accents will also be found throughout Rein from flowers and linens to menu design.
De Bruyn's healthful Think Pink dishes, available all day at Rein throughout October, include:

ABOUT ADELPHI NY STATEWIDE BREAST CANCER HOTLINE & SUPPORT PROGRAM: (Adelphi University School of Social Work, 1 South Ave, PO Box 701, Garden City, NY 11530 or ) The charity's goal is to educate, support, empower and advocate for breast cancer patients, professionals and the community. Founded in 1980, it is the first and only New York statewide program exclusively addressing the psychosocial issues associated with breast cancer and is a clearinghouse for breast cancer resources and organizations. Each year the toll-free Breast Cancer Hotline (800-877-8077), staffed by over 100 professionally trained and supervised volunteers, most of whom are breast cancer survivors, answers almost 4,000 calls and receives over 350,000 web site visits.
