Food and Beverage Division

Dishwasher/Potwasher/Porter
Responsibilities of this position include cleaning and maintaining equipment in Dishwashing/Kitchen/Cafeteria/Compactor/Storage areas, garbage removal, mopping floors, set up wares for Banquet functions, retrieve and wash soiled wares, transport supplies to Banquet service areas, in accordance with Hotel standards. Assist in other Stewarding Department functions and complete other special cleaning projects as assigned. Applicants must be flexible with scheduling, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Assistant Executive Steward

The Garden City Hotel, Long Island's Leading Luxury Hotel, has a career opportunity for an experienced Assistant Executive Steward.

We are seeking a talented, hospitality service-minded individual who is as committed as we are to providing absolute guest satisfaction in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

This position is responsible for the management of all aspects of the Stewarding Department functions, in accordance with hotel standards. Direct, implement and maintain a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.

Supervise, train and inspect the performance of assigned Stewarding staff, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the Hotel standards. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guest. Complete special cleaning projects. Clean and maintain equipment in Dishwashing/ Kitchen/ Cafeteria/ Compactor/ Storage areas. Only candidates with prior Stewarding management experience will be considered.

Banquet Wait staff - PT
The Banquet Department is looking for experienced highly motivated individuals. Experience should include banquet or fine dining. Candidates should have good people skills and a pleasant personality.

Restaurant Bus Attendant PT
Assist Captain and Server in providing quality food and beverage service to guests courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment. Stock all wares and equipment needed for service.

Fine Dinning Server PT
Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Collect payments. Assist in the maintenance of the Restaurant area and equipment. Only candidates with fine dining restaurant, and wine knowledge, experience will be considered.

Rooms Division

Fitness Center Attendant - PT
This position is responsible for monitoring fitness facilities ensuring positive and friendly customer relations; observe all activity within assigned areas offering assistance and instruction to guests/visitors. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and must provide a resume to be considered for this position.

Guest Service Agent - PT
Check-in/check-out hotel guests courteously and efficiently; process all payments according to established hotel requirements. Provide information and assistance to all guests and visitors. Provide prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all requests for guest room reservations, changes, cancellations and information. Provides prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all incoming calls and assistance for outgoing calls that transpire through PBX. Also plays an integral part in assisting with emergencies, (fire, medical, power/system failure) by contacting the designated personnel for immediate assistance. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and must provide a resume to be considered for this position.

Valet Parking
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, drive, park and retrieve guest/visitor vehicles as they arrive and depart from the hotel, courteously, safely and efficiently according to the hotel's standards. Working conditions include, but are not limited to, being exposed to all weather conditions and standing for extended periods of time. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a clean record. You must have prior customer service experience and excellent communication skills.

Reservation Sales Agent
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, provide prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all requests for guest room reservations, changes, cancellations and information. Must have prior hotel or travel agency experience to be considered for this position.
