Joseph Borbély is the director of catering at The Garden City Hotel, a world-class luxury hotel located in Garden City, Long
Island, New York.
Under the guidance of Joseph Borbély, The Garden City Hotel’s meeting facilities have enhanced the property’s reputation as Long
Island’s premier luxury venue for group events, including special occasions and lavish weddings.
As the direction of catering at The Garden City Hotel for more than two decades, Borbély oversees all banquet operations at the
hotel, including the culinary choices, wine selection and food presentation, staff training to ensure superb service and
personalization of each event.
Prior to his position at the hotel, Borbély has previously served the Hyatt and Hilton brands in New York and in Europe for over eight years.
His experience in the hospitality industry began in Europe, where he was employed in luxury properties located in Austria, Hungary and
Germany. His ability to refine and re-define culinary and service perfection can only be gained through years of experience,
training and extensive traveling that highlight Borbély’s background
Borbély earned his diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Overlooking events, whether fundraisers, banquets, meetings or incentive theme parties is Borbély’s expertise.
His dictum, “no short-cuts”, has earned him the title of “Most Valuable Member” of The Garden City Hotel’s professional staff.
