Cathy Nelkin Miller is the president of The Garden City Hotel. Under the direction of Nelkin Miller,
The Garden City Hotel, with its 128-year history, has continued to uphold its reputation as Long Island’s
leading hotel property.
Nelkin Miller is the hotel’s connection to the global customer. She understands the wants and needs of her
guests and uses this understanding to make sure that the Garden City Hotel remains a leading first-class hotel
and that it is constantly innovating to exceed her guests’ expectations.
Nelkin Miller has played host to state and world leaders such as Senator Hillary Clinton, and former Prime Minister
Margaret Thatcher, well-known names within the entertainment world and influential business and industry leaders.
As a result of Nelkin Miller’s dedication to her guests and clients, The Garden City Hotel continues to be the leading
choice for meeting and event planners, businesses, celebrities and those seeking world-class hospitality.
Nelkin Miller spearheaded and initiated the Garden City Hotel’s alliance with Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, an
association of independent luxury hotels, and as a result of her resourceful leadership, the hotel was recently honored
with a Preferred award for their exemplary service.
In addition to her global responsibilities as president of The Garden City Hotel, Nelkin Miller is dedicated to serving
the local community where she lives and works. She serves on numerous boards and committees throughout Long Island
including the Family and Children’s Association and the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation. Nelkin Miller is also an
Associate Trustee for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and is on the dinner committee for the Tilles
Center for the Performing Arts. A community-minded leader, Nelkin Miller is a sponsor of the Woman’s Health Care
Symposium, an event for Breast Cancer awareness, held annually at The Garden City Hotel. It is her passion to contribute
to the betterment of Long Island and the lives of those who call it “home”. As testament to the work she has accomplished,
Long Island Business News recently named Nelkin Miller as one of the Top 50 Women on Long Island.
Nelkin Miller is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Boston University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in
Business Management.
