The Garden City Hotel
Celebrates 140 Years!

On July 30th 1874, Alexander T. Stewart's vision came to life when the doors to The Garden City Hotel first opened to much fanfare. The hotel, set in what was once acres of the Hempstead Plains, would become one of Long Island's icons and the center of the nation's first planned community, Garden City. Today, owned by Morris Moinian and The Fortuna Realty Group, The Garden City Hotel celebrates its 140th with a $30 million renovation.
